Safety equipment for coal mines
Because the operating sites do not always have emergency exits adapted to all reasonably foreseen risks or disasters, it is the responsibility of the Operations Manager to provide a safe area the closest possible from the work area.
These safety areas called refuge chambers allow, thanks to their mobility and modularity, your evacuation plan to evolve according to the progress of the drivages/excavation.

Main ventilation studies
The study of the main ventilation is a site study to validate compliance in terms of both architecture and means of the site. It takes into account the production, geographical and short, medium and long-term strategic constraints.
This ventilation study shall be regulated by/based on a technical file designed to identify all direct or indirect ventilation risks and to include action plans with a view to ensuring the health and safety of the workers.
A study of main ventilation meets several criteria:
- Inventory of the architectural data of the site
- Drafting of the strategic development plan at 5, 10, 15.. and even 30 years
- Inventory of productive equipment and regulatory constraints throughout the life of the project
- Numerical modelling of the site using aeraulic in mesh networks calculation software« AERO© »
- Proposals of concepts of main ventilation/aeration for air renewal adapted to the simultaneity of the work, framed by secondary aeration/ventilation studies.

Studies of secondary ventilation
The secondary ventilation study is the study of specific dead end workings. It defines the concept and means of ventilations to be used depending on the method of excavation and marinating chosen. This study must be strictly applied during the work phase by the site operators.
All secondary ventilation studies form an integral part of the technical file.
Studies and specific measures
These studies concern both specific problems and those involving the presence of fires in a mesh network.
- Study of piping systems : dimensioning study of piping networks for hydraulic and compressed air transmission and distribution.
- Study of air conditioning systems : modelling of existing climatic conditions leading to a sizing study of the necessary refrigeration facilities.
- Study of filtration systems (dust removal) : sizing study of the filtering system using innovative and adapted technologies.
Fire evacuation studies
On the basis of numerical modelling carried out during the main and secondary ventilation studies, we simulate the presence of fires and their consequences on the atmosphere and the evacuation of workers.
The simulated scenarios correspond to the risk analysis that we will carried out jointly with you and which very frequently includes the areas of entrances and exits of the site, the mechanical workshop of the site, the excavation/drivage galleries and the explosive deposits.
The type of fire simulated will be adapted to the surrounding conditions and hazards.
Example: the fire of an operating machine filled with fuel in one of the galleries, or the fire of a machine under maintenance in the mechanical workshop.
The results obtained validate or not the natural excavation/drivage gallery/route, the need for refuge chambers and their locations where appropriate.
